A more water-wise week.

A simple, printable plan for noticing water use and making one practical change at a time.

Clear river water flowing gently around smooth stones

Start by noticing.

You do not need new equipment to begin understanding your habits. Use this page as a place to write down what you see.

  • Check for visible or audible leaks at taps, toilets, and outdoor fittings.
  • Notice when you leave a tap running without using the water.
  • Write down one small change that would fit your home this week.

Choose something easy to repeat.

Choose one suggestion from EPA WaterSense and adapt it to your household.

  • Turn off the tap while brushing your teeth.
  • Keep a jug of drinking water in the fridge instead of running the tap to cool it.
  • Use full laundry loads or select the appropriate water level for a smaller load.
  • Use a basin when washing dishes by hand; run the dishwasher when full.

Keep what works.

A useful habit should fit ordinary days, not just a perfect week.

  • Ask the people you live with which change felt easiest.
  • Arrange repairs for leaks you cannot safely fix yourself.
  • Choose one habit to keep and one thing to learn next.

Something useful is worth sharing.
